AXIS concept
AXIS Medical Center specializes in neuro-orthopedic rehabilitation of children and adults with diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system. Our specialists have experience from the best rehabilitation clinics in Europe, which allowed us to combine in one team the most effective techniques from Austria, Germany, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, as well as Russian and Ukrainian medicine. AXIS Rehabilitation Centre is located on Spa Island in Piestany, in one of the largest and most original spa complexes in Europe.
The AXIS concept is based on tailor-made rehabilitation programs, reflecting the individual needs of the client. These programs have been developed by our team based on many years of experience in working with patients with neurological disorders. It is a unique approach in the treatment of patients with cerebral palsy, sequelae of craniocerebral injuries, spinal cord injuries, strokes, degenerative diseases of the nervous system as well as degenerative disorders of the spine and joints.
The AXIS concept is based on intensive, comprehensive and systematic rehabilitation using a variety of world-renowned methods and techniques, which are combined according to the needs of the patient. The framework programs are designed based on the diagnosis, age and current state of health of the patient. Each program is tailored to the specific needs of the patient, taking into account their requirements and needs.
During the intensive rehabilitation stay (2-8 weeks), the patient receives 4-8 hours of therapy per day, 5-6 days per week. The basis of each rehabilitation program is physiological exercise (with a team of 2-3 therapists), which is supplemented with therapies based on the doctor’s indication. The entire rehabilitation process is supervised by a physician and in close collaboration between the patient and his/her entire team. Based on our experience and studies, such a concept yields excellent results. With proper rehabilitation, patients not only avoid serious surgeries, but their condition can gradually improve and they can live a better quality and happier life.
Our goal is to make the highest quality rehabilitation available to as many people as possible around the world. We believe that rehabilitation is an investment not only for the individual, but for society as a whole. It helps avoid costly hospitalization and allows individuals to be educated and subsequently employed, minimizing financial support from family and society. That is why Axis Medical Center organises international projects as part of the dissemination of its know-how. So far we have successfully treated patients not only in Slovakia, but also in Italy, Lithuania and also in Libya. Rehabilitation is an essential health service and as such should be available to everyone who needs it.
